There was never a time when these monarchs, you, or I did not exist, nor shall we ever cease to exist in the future. Just as the living entity acquires a childhood body, a youth body, and an old age body during this life; similarly, it acquires another body after death. The wise are not deluded by this. The contacts of the senses with the sense objects give rise to the feelings of heat and cold, and pain and pleasure. They are transitory and impermanent. Therefore, learn to endure them, O Arjuna, because a calm person --- who is not afflicted by these sense objects, and is steady in pain and pleasure --- becomes fit for immortality, O Arjuna.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29228825.post-4203429997391661092010-03-12T15:15:27.582-05:002010-03-12T15:15:27.582-05:00The Supreme Lord said: The wise grieve neither for...The Supreme Lord said: The wise grieve neither for the living nor for the dead. I still tear up, but it's about the love and blessings I've received.Pat Bralleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12057484201453654459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29228825.post-81230586514734798342010-03-12T11:43:52.837-05:002010-03-12T11:43:52.837-05:00Hey, Patty. Your blog and Tolle's comments regarding the collapse of ego following a loss reminded me of this PTSD treatment. CPT uses the language of "stuck points" to describe "resistance" to the reality of the trauma and "idenitfying problematic thinking patterns" as a method of "challenging" those sticking points that serve as obstacles to acceptance/healing. Different language but the same idea I think. "Resistance", "hardening of the shell", "avoidance", whatever you want to call it - there are so many ways we try to protect our fragile hearts from breaking. But, like Tolle's sunlight metaphor, I think the breaking is what allows our hearts to open and grow.... Thanks for helping build these connections....Best to you, RebeccaRebecca Fryenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29228825.post-4719385693088966962010-03-11T12:46:51.749-05:002010-03-11T12:46:51.749-05:00I love you Patty!I love you Patty!Eve Bralleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03863854375394921480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29228825.post-14244019732878020562010-03-11T11:05:45.643-05:002010-03-11T11:05:45.643-05:00Hi Anjali,
